Poem: I Have Only Just A Minute

Bette Ford

I Have Only Just A Minute by Benjamin E. Mays

“I have only just a minute. Only sixty seconds in it. Forced upon me, can’t refuse it. Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it.  But it’s up to me to use it. I must suffer if I lost it. Give account if I abuse it. Just a tiny little minute, but eternity it in it.”

  1. Dr. Mays did not write this poem. He repeated it frequently, but never claimed authorship. He attributed it to “Anonymous”. You do a disservice to his memory by erroneously attributing authorship to him.
